This online course describes the outcomes of a recently published study. This study examined the defect rates between original equipment manufacturers single use energy devices compared to reprocessed devices. If your healthcare system’s Value Analysis Program is evaluating the benefits of a reprocessing program, then this course is for you. The results of this study demonstrated the defect rates for energy devices were 4.9X greater for OEM devices compared to RP devices.

There are two parts to this course. The first part describes the results of the study. The second part explains why there is a significant difference in defect rates. The total viewing time for Part 1 is about 15 minutes and Part 2 is about 16 minutes.
